What will my application (application form and interview stages) be assessed on?

Ability to engage with the questions and demonstrate understanding.

Evidence of your understanding of your own need for personal development, self-evaluation, and self-awareness. That is to say; your understanding of yourself, your thoughts, and values and how you function internally and in relation to others.

Possession of the right personal qualities as a user of counselling skills

Demonstration of your ability to cope with the workload and the process of the course emotionally, psychologically, mentally, and physically. It is good practice to require users of counselling skills and trainee counsellors to have resilience (the capacity to work with helpees / clients concerns without being personally diminished). Therefore, we ask that all applicants have no less than 12 – 18 months post severe emotional, psychological, mental, and physical wellbeing; and each individual will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

The interview stages will be a continuation of the assessment of your readiness and suitability for the course.
